Pengaruh Komposisi PVA/Kitosan terhadap Perilaku Membran Komposit PVA/Kitosan/Grafin Oksida yang Terikat Silang Asam Sulfat

Membran komposit PVA/Kitosan untuk aplikasi Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) dari PVA, Kitosan dan Grafin Oksida yang terikat silang asam sulfat telah berhasil disintesis. Perbandingan volume PVA dan kitosan adalah 1:5, 2:4, 3:3, 4:2, 5:1 dengan massa Grafin Oksida sebesar 1,5% berat membran. Penambahan komposisi kitosan meningkatkan nilai tensile strength, namun menurunkan nilai break elongation. Penambahan PVA menyebabkan suhu degradasi meningkat. Persentase water uptake dan methanol uptake meningkat seiring bertambahnya komposisi PVA. Penambahan komposisi kitosan membutuhkan waktu perendaman lebih lama agar diperoleh konduktivitas proton lebih besar. Nilai konduktivitas proton tertinggi adalah 8,35 × 10-3 Scm-1 (PVA/Kitosan 3:3, waktu perendaman 30 menit).
