Kemampuan Isolat Bacillus sp. dalam Mendegradasi Limbah Tangki Septik

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan isolat Bacillus sp. dalam mendegradasi bahan organik yang terdapat pada limbah tangki septik. Penelitian ini menggunakan sistem pengolahan limbah berupa bioreaktor secara tertutup (anaerob) dan hasil proses biodegradasi diketahui dari nilai parameter derajat keasaman (pH), total suspended solid (TSS), total dissolved solid (TDS) dan viabilitas mikroorganisme yang dilakukan pada awal dan akhir masa inkubasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Bacillus sp. dapat menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan derajat keasaman (pH) dari 8 menjadi 6,7; penurunan nilai kandungan TSS dari 504 mg/l menjadi 205 mg/l ; penurunan nilai kandungan TDS dari 81667 mg/l menjadi 24067 mg/l; dan peningkatan jumlah rata-rata sel/ml dari 2,56 x 1011 CFU/ml menjadi 1,05 x 1014 CFU/ml selama 31 hari masa inkubasi
