Studi Potensi Isolat Kapang Wonorejo Surabaya dalam Mendegradasi Polimer Bioplastik Poly Hydroxy Butyrate (PHB)

Abstract


PHB merupakan salah satu polimer sintetis berbahan dasar dari sumber daya terbaharukan yang oleh aktivitas mikroorganisme akan disintesis menjadi bioplastik. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui potensi isolat kapang tanah Wonorejo Surabaya dalam mendegradasi polimer bioplastik, khususnya golongan Poly Hydroxy Butyrate (PHB). Parameter yang digunakan untuk pengamatan adalah skrinning rasio zona bening. Dari 21 isolat yang diujikan, terdapat 5 isolat yang mampu menghasilkan zona bening. Terbentuknya zona bening mengindikasikan adanya penguraian polimer PHB dan kopolimernya. Gliomastix sp.2 menunjukkan rasio zona bening tertinggi yaitu 0,98 cm, diikuti nilai terbesar hingga terkecil selanjutnya adalah Chaetomium sp. (0,97 cm), Fusarium sp. (0,94 cm), Mortierella sp. (0,89 cm) dan Paecilomyces sp.4 (0,86 cm). Pertumbuhan diameter koloni kapang lebih besar daripada diameter zona bening sehingga hasil rasio zona bening menunjukkan nilai < 1 cm
