Sintesis dan Karakterisasi Isolator Mott MEM(TCNQ)2 dan β’-(BEDT-TTF)2ICl2

Abstract


Telah dilakukan sintesis kristal MEM(TCNQ)2 dengan pelarutan donor-akseptor dan kristal β’-(BEDT-TTF)2ICl2 melalui proses elektrokimia. Kristal yang dihasilkan dikarakterisasi dengan metode four point probe untuk mengetahui respon resistivitas terhadap suhu, serta dengan  X-Ray Diffractometer untuk mengetahui susunan kristalnya. Berdasarkan analisis dan perhitungan yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan besar celah energi kristal MEM(TCNQ)2 dan β’-(BEDT-TTF)2ICl2 secara berturut-turut adalah  0,55 eV and 0,049 eV. yang berada dalam rentang semikonduktor. Namun, jika rentang suhu karakterisasi menggunakan suhu yang jauh lebih rendah, maka maka akan didapatkan peningkatan nilai celah energi dalam rentang isolator dari yang semula diperkirakan bersifat konduktor. Karakter tersebut mengindikasikan kedua kristal bersifat isolator mott. Sedangkan jumlah komposisi bahan , besar  arus input,  dan waktu dalam proses elektrokimia berbanding lurus dengan resistansi yang dimiliki kristal tersebut.
