Oksida Aurivillius LaBi2TiNbO9 dan Bi3TiTaO9 telah berhasil disintesis dengan metode reaksi kimia padat, kedua senyawa berstruktur ortorombik. Pengaruh subsitusi kation A menyebabkan perubahan grup ruang A21am menjadi Fmmm dan nilai faktor toleransi perosvkit menurun dari ~ 0,96 menjadi ~ 0,89 pada oksida Aurivillius Bi3TiTaO9sehingga perovskit pada senyawa tersebut terdistorsi. Subsitusi pada kation B tidak merubah struktur dan grup ruang. Karakterisasi XRF Oksida Aurivillius LaBi2TiNbO9mempunyai komposisi berbeda dengan hasil teori sedangkan komposisi Aurivillius Bi3TiTaO9mendekati nilai sebenarya
