Performansi Parameter Throughput Pada Aplikasi DIAMON

Abstract

Perancangan serta pembuatan sistem monitoring jaringan berupa sebuah aplikasi yang diberi nama DIAMON. Aplikasi ini merupakan aplikasi monitoring nilai throughput dari suatu device atau perangkat yang berada pada sebuah jaringan. Pemilihan throughput sebagai sesuatu yang dimonitoring dikarenakan throughput merupakan salah satu parameter Quality of Service (QoS). Aplikasi DIAMON memanfaatkan salah satu protokol yang dapat digunakan untuk memonitoring jaringan yaitu protokol Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) yang didefinisikan oleh lembaga Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) pada RFC 1157. Dengan memanfaatkan protokol SNMP, setiap perangkat yang ingin dimonitoring dapat diidentifikasi seluruh informasi beserta nomor portnya. Pada SNMP, suatu identifikasi throughput dideskripsikan dengan tipe informasi IfInOctet untuk throughput in (masuk) dan IfOutOctet untuk throughput out (keluar). Informasi yang diperoleh oleh server akan disimpan pada database. Database yang digunakan sebagai tempat penyimpanan data pada aplikasi DIAMON adalah MySQL. Selanjutnya informasi mengenai nilai throughput suatu device dapat di tampilkan pada sebuah web. Aplikasi DIAMON memiliki kinerja yang baik sebagai aplikasi monitoring jaringan karena nilai yang diperoleh tidak jauh berberda dengan salah satu NMS yaitu PRTG.
