Efisiensi Pengolahan Limbah Cair Mengandung Minyak Pelumas pada Oil Separator dengan Menggunakan Plate Settler

Abstract
Kegiatan pencucian kendaraan bermotor menghasilkan limbah cair mengandung minyak pelumas yang dapat menimbulkan permasalahan lingkungan, terutama menghambat suplai oksigen ke dalam tanah, meracuni mikroorganisme tanah, serta dapat mencemari perairan sampai ke lapisan aquifer air tanah. Salah satu cara mengolah limbah yang mengandung minyak pelumas adalah dengan pemisahan menggunakan gravity separator yang memanfaatkan plate settler. Penelitian ini lalu dilaksanakan untuk menentukan efisiensi pemisahan minyak pelumas pada oil separator dengan plate settler. Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian yakni konsentrasi campuran minyak pelumas sebesar 90 mg/L, 120 mg/L, dan 150 mg/L serta sudut kemiringan plate settler sebesar 30°, 45°, dan 60°. Pengujian konsentrasi minyak pelumas dalam air sampel menggunakan metode ekstraksi soxhlet. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, sudut kemiringan 60° dan konsentrasi minyak pelumas dalam influent 150 mg/L memberikan efisiensi tertinggi, yakni 84,93%. Sudut 60° berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui pula merupakan sudut yang paling optimum untuk proses pemisahan minyak pelumas dengan air.
