Tinjauan Pengaruh Jenis Partikel Halloysite Nanotubes dan Montmorillonite Nanoclay terhadap Morfologi dan Sifat Mekanik pada Komposit Poliester Tak Jenuh/Partikel Nano untuk Aplikasi Lapisan Gel pada Kapal Laut

Abstract
Material baru yang kuat dan ringan merupakan fokus utama pada dunia penelitian maupun industri. Komposit merupakan jenis material baru dengan mengandalkan matriks dan penguatnya. Poliester tak jenuh merupakan salah satu jenis matriks yang memiliki sifat ketahanan terhadap air dan kimia yang baik. Namun, poliester tak jenuh memiliki keterbatasan dalam sifat mekaniknya yang kaku. Nanokomposit dengan penguat nanopartikel merupakan salah satu metode untuk meningkatkan sifat mekanik, serta ketahanan termal pada komposit polimer. Nanopartikel dengan berbagai macam jenis telah diteliti pengaruhnya terhadap polimer poliester tak jenuh. Pada tinjauan ini, telah dipelajari pengaruh dari penambahan nanopartikel terhadap morfologi menggunakan SEM, sifat mekanik berupa kekuatan tarik, kekuatan tekan, dan kekuatan lentur dari bentuk dan jenis partikel halloysite nanotubes dan montmorillonite nanoclay terhadap nanokomposit polimer poliester tak jenuh. Didapatkan bahwa pada semua jenis penambahan nanopartikel telah memengaruhi morfologi dari nanokomposit. Kemudian, didapatkan bahwa jenis nanopartikel pada tinjauan ini juga meningkatkan sifat mekanik dengan penambahan pada rasio tertentu.
