Kajian Penerapan Membran Mikrofiltrasi Terendam pada Instalasi Pengolahan Air (IPA) Siwalanpanji PDAM Sidoarjo

Abstract
Air baku IPA Siwalanpanji PDAM Sidoarjo memiliki kandungan zat organik dan E. coli yang tinggi. Karena keterbatasan kinerja sistem pengolahan konvensional pada IPA Siwalanpanji, maka diterapkan pre-klorinasi untuk membunuh bakteri. Membran mikrofiltrasi (MF) terendam dapat menyisihkan bakteri, sehingga dapat menghemat biaya zat kimia untuk pre-klorinasi. Membran MF terendam juga memiliki kelebihan dibandikan filter pasir cepat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengevaluasi kinerja dari filter pasir cepat IPA Siwalanpanji dan mengkaji peningkatan filter pasir cepat menjadi unit membran mikrofiltrasi terendam. Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa kualitas air pada efluen filter pasir cepat pada paremeter warna dan zat organik melebihi baku mutu air minum Permenkes No. 492 Tahun 2010. Sedangkan, kecepatan backwash dan nilai UFRV tidak memenuhi kriteria desain. Desain membran mikrofiltrasi terendam untuk menggantikan filter pasir cepat, yaitu membran berbentuk flat sheet dengan bahan ceramic. Membran memiliki ukuran pori 0,1 µm dan laju fluks 100 m3/m2.hari. Kapasitas produksi sebesar 50 L/detik, maka jumlah membran yang dibutuhkan sebesar 288 plate yang disusun menjadi sebuah modul. Pompa yang digunakan untuk mengoperasikan membran MF terendam adalah pompa model FSDA dengan kapasitas 3 m3/menit dan head 5 m. Modul dan pompa direncanakan masing-masing 2 buah dengan operasi secara bergantian yaitu proses filtrasi dan pencucian membran.
