Studi Eksperimen Efek Penempatan Dinding di Samping Sudu Advancing terhadap Kinerja Turbin Angin Savonius pada Jarak G/D=1,1

Abstract
Pola konsumsi energi dunia maupun Indonesia saat ini masih didominasi oleh energi fosil. Hal tersebut kontradiktif dengan berkurangnya produksi energi fosil terutama minyak bumi. Maka dengan memasang turbin angin Savonius pada gedung di perkotaan diharapkan mampu memanfaatkan aliran angin yang bebas hambatan dan meningkatkan peran energi baru terbarukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan meletakkan kayu multiplek yang berfungsi sebagai pemodelan dinding bangunan di samping advancing blade turbin angin Savonius. Dinding tersebut diletakkan pada perbandingan jarak antara dinding dengan poros turbin angin Savonius terhadap diameter sudu turbin angin Savonius (G/D) sebesar 1,1 dan pada variasi kecepatan 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 dan 9 m/s. Hasil yang didapatkan berupa adanya penempatan dinding di samping advancing blade pada G/D=1,1 saat kecepatan angin 4 m/s atau dalam bilangan Reynolds sebesar 77000 yang merupakan kecepatan optimum pada penelitian ini, dengan dengan nilai coefficient power (CoP) yaitu sebesar 0,0843 pada λ = 0,708 dan mengalami kenaikan sebesar 86,91% serta nilai coefficient of moment (CM) yaitu sebesar 0,2485 pada λ = 0 dengan kenaikan sebesar 132,24%, Nilai coefficient of static torque minimum mengalami kenaikan pada seluruh variasi kecepatan. Sehingga meningkatkan kemampuan self starting. Namun, masih terdapat torsi yang bernilai negatif sehingga membuat turbin angin Savonius belum mampu melakukan self starting pada semua posisi angular sudu.
