Analisis Pengaruh Variasi Tekanan Hot Press Decal Transfer terhadap Morfologi Membrane Electrode Assembly dan Performa Elektrokimia PEM Fuel Cell

Abstract
Saat ini, bahan bakar fosil yang memenuhi 80% kebutuhan energi dunia memiliki keterbatasan dan cepat atau lambat akan habis. Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel cell (PEMFC) dapat menjadi solusi untuk masalah ini karena efisiensinya yang tinggi dan ramah lingkungan. Namun terdapat beberapa kendala, seperti kinerja, daya tahan, dan efektivitas biaya, sehingga pengembangan Membrane Electrode Assemblies (MEA) yang merupakan tempat terjadinya reaksi elektrokimia harus dioptimalkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh perubahan tekanan hot press terhadap morfologi dan kinerja elektrokimia fuel cell selama proses transfer decal. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah fabrikasi MEA dengan variasi tekanan hot press 5, 6, dan 7 MPa. Berdasarkan hasil SEM didapatkan bahwa pengaruh tekanan terhadap morfologi adalah porositas terus menurun linier dengan penambahan tekanan hot press. Morfologi yang terbentuk untuk sampel 5, 6, dan 7 MPa yaitu berupa struktur karbon tipikal yang terdiri dari partikel karbon primer yang teraglomerasi dengan diameter 58-61 nm, dan pori-pori yang terdistribusi secara acak. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian performa elektrokimia didapatkan bahwa fuel cell dengan variasi tekanan 6 MPa merupakan sampel yang memiliki performa paling baik diantara variasi lainnya yaitu memiliki power density sebesar 8,21 mW/cm2 dan RTotal yang terkecil sebesar 101,5 ohm.
