Abstract


Paduan magnesium merupakan paduan yang banyak diaplikasikan pada komponen otomotif yang memerlukan sifat ringan dan mampu tahan pada temperatur kerja otomotif. Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan penelitian pengerasan persipitasi paduan Mg-6Zn-1Y dengan menggunakan variabel temperatur 1500C , 175 0C dan 200 0C dengan waktu tahan 4 jam, 8 jam dan 24 jam. Setelah pengerasan presipitasi paduan Mg-6Zn-1Y dilakukan pengujian metalografi, pengujian XRD, pengujian kekerasan dan pengujian TMA. Dari hasil pengujian didapatkan bahwa fasa yang terbentuk adalah αMg, Mg3 Y2 Zn3 dan Mg3 Y Zn6. Sedangkan microstructure yang didapatkan bererbentuk lamelar, Mg3 Y Zn6 dan αMg. Lamelar terbentuk dari fasa αMg+Mg3 Y2 Zn3. Sedangkan nilai kekerasan pada sampel aging 150ºC dengan waktu tahan 4, 8 dan 24 jam adalah 75.4, 80.93 dan 84.6 BHN.
