Pengurangan Waktu Setup pada High Frequency Welding Perusahaan Manufaktur Pipa Baja dengan Metode SMED

Abstract
Perusahaan Manufaktur Pipa Baja (PMPB) merupakan salah satu perusahaan dalam negeri yang memproduksi pipa baja untuk oil and gas dengan sistem engineering to order (ETO) sesuai dengan standar API-5L. Peneliti memilih lini produksi high frequency welding (HFW) karena permasalahan waktu setup yang lebih lama dari waktu produksi. Waktu setup saat ini adalah 2.846 menit yang terdiri dari waktu setup internal adalah 1.922 menit dan waktu setup eksternal 922 menit. Waktu setup tersebut tidak sebanding dengan kecepatan produksi pipa baja, yaitu 12-20 meter per menit atau hanya membutuhkan waktu sekitar 2 hari untuk menghasilkan 70 pipa baja. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut biaya setup yang dibutuhkan adalah sebesar Rp180.264.372. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah single minute exchange of dies (SMED) dengan pengurangan waktu setup secara keseluruhan adalah 2.504 menit (12,02%) yang terdiri dari pengurangan waktu setup internal sebesar 8,95% dan waktu setup eksternal sebesar 18,22%.
