Pra Desain Pabrik Garam Industri menggunakan Teknologi Membran Reverse Osmosis

Abstract
Garam merupakan salah satu komoditas strategis nasional yang secara fungsi maupun manfaat tidak kalah penting apabila dibandingkan dengan kebutuhan pokok lainnya. Akan tetapi, hingga saat ini Indonesia masih sangat bergantung pada impor untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan garam industri karena produksi garam lokal yang masih belum memenuhi standar. Maka dari itu, didirikanlah pabrik garam industri ini di daerah Kabupaten Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Timur dengan kapasitas sebesar 400.000 ton per tahun untuk mengurangi 23,19% angka impor terhadap kebutuhan nasional. Bahan baku utama yang digunakan pada pabrik ini yaitu air laut dengan proses terpilih berupa teknologi membrane reverse osmosis dengan kristalisasi yang prosesnya dibagi menjadi tiga bagian yaitu unit pemurnian bahan baku, unit kristalisasi dan pengeringan, serta unit sizing and finishing. Produk yang dihasilkan pada pabrik ini yaitu garam industri sebagai produk utama dengan kemurnian NaCl 99,8% berukuran 30 mesh dan desalinated water sebagai produk sampingnya. Usia pabrik ini diperkirakan selama 15 tahun operasi dengan proses konstruksi yang dilakukan selama 5 tahun. Pendirian pabrik ini membutuhkan investasi awal sebesar Rp 1.975.482.014.717,7 dengan pay out time selama 9,15 tahun, NPV sebesar Rp 1.293.659.980.492,9, dan IRR sebesar 23,18%.
