Eksperimen Wall Insulation pada Dinding Komposit Prototipe Reefer Container 1/2 Ton Menggunakan Campuran Serat Kapas dan Polyurethane

Abstract
Untuk mengatasi peningkatan konsumsi energi, penggunaan energi secara efektif dan pengembangan sumber energi terbarukan menjadi fokus utama. Insulasi adalah salah satu cara untuk menghemat energi yang sudah diterapkan pada reefer container. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengembangan sistem insulasi pada prototipe reefer container dengan menggunakan bahan serat kapas dan polyurethane. Metodologi penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membuat perancangan desain struktur dinding komposit dengan bahan campuran serat kapas dan polyurethane, melaksanakan modifikasi desain struktur dinding prototipe dengan komposisi campuran serat kapas dan polyurethane 50%:50% dan melakukan pengujian kinerja untuk menganalisa kinerja termal terhadap suhu dan waktu pada prototipe. Pengujian termal dilakukan dengan beban produk seberat 20% dari total massa kargo dan tanpa beban produk pada prototipe reefer container ½ ton berdinding komposit polyurethane murni dan berdinding komposit campuran serat kapas dan polyurethane. Berdasarkan pengujian dan analisa data, didapatkan ketebalan dinding komposit campuran yang mana ketebalan serat kapas sebesar 0,696 cm dan ketebalan polyurethane foam sebesar 3,5cm. Dari percobaan yang dilakukan diketahui bahwa dalam insulasi pada dinding komposit polyurethane murni suhu udara dalam mengalami kenaikan suhu udara sekitar 2 jam tiap derajatnya ketika berisi muatan, dan saat tanpa muatan. Pada dinding komposit bahan campuran suhu udara dalam mengalami kenaikan suhu udara sekitar 54 menit tiap derajatna ketika berisi muatan dan saat tanpa muatan mengalami kenaikan suhu udara sekitar 46 menit tiap derajatnya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem dinding insulasi komposit polyurethane murni memiliki kinerja lebih baik dalam mempertahankan suhu udara dingin dibanding dinding insulasi komposit campuran 50% serat kapas dan 50% polyurethane.
