Studi Pengaruh Rasio Co-firing Bahan Bakar Batubara dan Biomassa Tertorefaksi Terhadap Performa Boiler

Abstract
Co-firing merupakan salah satu cara untuk mengurangi penggunaan bahan bakar fosil (batubara) diganti dengan biomassa. Akan tetapi co-firing dapat menyebabkan penurunan performa pada pembangkit. Salah satu cara untuk menanggulangi permasalahan ini adalah dengan menggunakan biomassa yang telah diolah terlebih dahulu lewat proses heat-treatment yaitu biomassa tertorefaksi. Pada penelitian ini analisa pengaruh biomassa tertorefaksi terhadap performa pembangkit dengan menggunakan Cycle Tempo. Variasi yang dilakukan adalah rasio batubara low rank coal dengan biomassa. Biomassa yang digunakan ada empat; dua merupakan biomassa non-torefaksi (sawdust dan coconut shell) dan biomassa tertorefaksi (torrefied sawdust dan coconut charcoal). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan variasi biomassa berupa 1%, 3%, 5%, 7%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, penggunaan biomassa tertorefaksi menghasilkan peningkatan performa pada pembangkit. Performa terbaik ditunjukkan pada biomassa tertorefaksi yaitu coconut charcoal pada rasio co-firing 7%. Dengan performa pembangkit sebagai berikut, peningkatan efisiensi boiler yang semula bernilai 85.03% menjadi 85.51% dan penurunan NPHR yang semula bernilai 2171,66 menjadi 2159,6. Peningkatan performa pembangkit yang diakibatkan oleh penggunaan biomassa tertorefaksi memungkinkan untuk implementasi co-firing pada rasio yang lebih tinggi.
