Studi Eksperimen Peningkatan Kinerja Turbin Angin Savonius dengan Penempatan Silinder Pengganggu di Depan Returning Blade Turbin pada S/D =1,2

Abstract
Salah satu energi alternatif yang dapat dikembangkan di Indonesia adalah energi angin. Kecepatan angin di Indonesia tergolong rendah yakni sekita 3 - 7 m/s. Turbin angin yang optimal diterapkan sesuai kecepatan angin di Indonesia adalah turbin Savonius. Turbin Savonius bekerja dengan memanfaatkan perbedaan dari gaya drag pada advancing blade dan returning blade. Perbedaan gaya drag antara kedua sudu menghasilkan torsi yang akan membuat rotor berputar. Turbin Savonius memiliki kelemahan yaitu memiliki efisiensi yang rendah, sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan performa turbin Savonius dengan cara meletakkan silinder pengganggu di depan returning blade turbin. Silinder pengganggu diletakkan di depan returning blade dengan jarak (y/D)= 0,5 yang memiliki diameter (d) = 83 mm. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan variasi kecepatan angin 3,8 - 9 m/s pada jarak (S/D) = 1,2. Hasil yang didapatkan menunjukkan bahwa Turbin Savonius dengan silinder pengganggu di depan returning blade pada kecepatan angin 5 m/s paling efektif dalam meningkatkan CoP dan Cm, dengan didapatkan nilai sebesar 74,28% dan 73,24%. Namun penggunaan silinder pengganggu dengan ukuran d/D = 0,5, posisi y/D = 0,5 dan jarak S/D = 1,2 untuk semua variasi kecepatan belum mampu menyebabkan turbin Savonius memiliki self starting pada semua posisi angular sudu.
