Pra-Desain Pabrik Pembuatan Ethylene dari Sales Gas dengan Teknologi Oxidative Coupling Methane

Abstract
Ethylene salah satu produk intermediate dari gas alam, merupakan salah satu senyawa penting dalam mata rantai industri petrokimia. Berdasarkan Pusat Data dan Informasi Kementrian Perindustrian Indonesia, permintaan ethylene di Indonesia pada tahun 2020 mencapai 2000 KTPA. Ethylene dapat diproduksi dari Metana yang merupakan komponen utama penyusun gas alam. Untuk memanfaatkan potensi sumber daya alam yang melimpah di Indonesia, saat ini pemerintah mendukung penuh berbagai pengembangan industri, salah satunya industri kimia dasar berbasis minyak dan gas. Pengembangan industri kimia dasar berbasis migas ini akan meningkatkan nilai jual migas secara keseluruhan. Karena selama ini migas di Indonesia hanya digunakan untuk pembangkit tenaga listrik dan ekspor dengan nilai jual yang kecil. Ethylene umumnya diproduksi menggunakan Teknologi Thermal Cracking dengan bahan baku yang mahal. Di Indonesia, produksi gas alam masih memiliki potensi yang besar untuk diolah. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan perancangan pabrik mengolah komponen utama gas alam sebagai bahan baku alternatif untuk memproduksi ethylene menggunakan Oxidative Coupling of Methane (OCM). Untuk mencapai 600 produksi ethylene KTA, pabrik ini direncanakan berlokasi di Blok Masela, mendekati pusat sumber daya alamnya yang akan dieksploitasi dan dikembangkan. Proses utamanya adalah mereaksikan metana dengan oksigen di dalam OCM Reactor. Dari hasil analisis ekonomi didapatkan IRR sebesar 19,47%, POT selama 5,8 Tahun, BEP sebesar 31,194 %. Maka dapat disimpulkan dari segi teknis dan ekonomis pabrik ini layak untuk didirikan.
