Studi Eksperimen Pengaruh Instalasi Silinder Sirkular di Depan Sudu Returning terhadap Kinerja Turbin Angin Savonius

Abstract
Pertumbuhan penduduk Indonesia tiap taunnya meningkat begitupun kebutuhan akan energi. Peningkatan kebutuhan energi ini pun menjadi tantangan bagi Indonesia dan mendorong Pemerintah untuk meningkatkan peran energi baru. Berdasarkan data Dewan Energi Nasional dan Rencana Umum Energi Nasional, Indonesia memiliki potensi tenaga angin sebesar 60.647 MW dengan kondisi kecepatan angin 3-6 m/s. Dengan kecepatan angin yang terbilang rendah di Indonesia ini maka turbin angin yang cocok untuk dipakai adalah turbin angin Savonius. Tetapi turbin angin Savonius ini memiliki kekurangan dibandingkan dengan turbin angin jenis lainnya, yaitu turbin angin Savonius memiliki efesiensi yang rendah. Maka dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan efesiensi dari turbin angin Savonius dengan cara meletakkan silinder pengganggu di depan returning blade. Studi Eksperimen ini menggunakan turbin angin Savonius yang memiliki dua sudu yaitu advancing blade dan returning blade. Ukuran dari diameter sudu (D) yang digunakan yaitu 167 mm, tinggi turbin (H) 298 mm, diameter poros (b) 19 mm, dan diameter end plate (D) 321 mm. selain itu untuk silinder pengganggu, digunakan silinder dengan diameter (d) 33,4 mm dan tinggi (h) 500 mm yang diletakan didepan returning blade dengan rasio jarak titik pusat turbin dan titik pusat silinder pengganggu terhadap diameter sudu turbin (S/D) adalah 2,1. Hsil yang didapatkan menunjukan bahwa Turbin Savonius dengan silinder pengganggu didepan returning blade pada kecepatan angin 6 m/s paling efektif dalam meningkatkan Coefficient of Power dan Coefficient of Moment, dengan didaptkan peningkatan sebesar 29,46% dan 16,67%. Penambahan silinder pengganggu juga mampu menyebabkan turbin angin Savonius mempunyai kemampuan selfstarting pada kecepatan 10 m/s di semua posisi sudu.
