Studi Eksperimental Kinerja Turbin Angin Savonius yang Dekat dengan Dinding Gedung pada Jarak G/D=1,7

Abstract
Dalam usaha mengurangi ketergantungan konsumsi bahan bakar fosil sebagai bahan bakar utama pembangkit listrik, penggunaan turbin angin dapat menjadi solusi terbaik. Prinsip kerja turbin angin Savonius adalah memanfaatkan selisih torsi akibat gaya drag pada advancing blade dan returning blade sehingga turbin dapat berputar menghasilkan energi mekanis yang akan dikonversi menjadi energi listrik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menempatkan advancing blade turbin angin Savonius dekat dinding gedung. Turbin angin Savonius yang digunakan memiliki 2 sudu dengan diameter sudu (D) 165,2 mm, aspect ratio (H/L) = 1 dan variasi kecepatan angin bernilai 4 sampai dengan10 (m/s) pada jarak celah antara model dinding dengan turbin (G/D) = 1,7. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menempatkan advancing blade turbin angin Savonius dekat dinding gedung efektif meningkatkan performa turbin. Nilai tertinggi diperoleh pada kecepatan angin 5 m/s yaitu diperoleh coefficient of power maximum sebesar 0,0747 pada tip speed ratio (λ) sebesar 0,687. Sedangkan peningkatan nilai coefficient of power maximum tertinggi pada kecepatan angin (U) 4 m/s yaitu sebesar 16% dengan nilai 0,0504 pada tip speed ratio (λ) 0,717 dan nilai coefficient of moment maksimum pada kecepatan 4 m/s sebesar 6,07%. Serta, adanyan penempatan dinding untuk semua variasi kecepatan mampu menyebabkan turbin Savonius memiliki self-starting yang lebih baikpada semua posisi angular sudu.
