Tinjauan Pengaruh Penambahan Jenis Filler terhadap Sifat Mekanik dan Biodegrdasi pada Bioplastik Pati Singkong

Abstract
Plastik konvensional merupakan peralatan yang telah banyak digunakan, namun memiliki permasalahan yang kompleks di lingkungan. Oleh karena itu dirancanglah sebuah inovasi pada bahan plastik yang lebih ramah lingkungan, yakni bioplastik. Bioplastik merupakan sebuah plastik biodegradasi ramah lingkungan yang terbuat dari bahan alam seperti pati. Pada proses pembuatannya, bioplastik ditambahkan sebuah filler untuk meningkatkan sifat-sifat yang ada pada bioplastik. Sehingga, kualitas plastik biodegradasi ini diharapkan dapat menyamai kualitas plastik konvensional sebelumnya, namun tidak merusak lingkungan. Adapun tujuan pada penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui bagaimana efek penambahan jenis-jenis fillerĀ¬ terhadap sifat mekanik dan kemampuan biodegradasi bioplastik pati singkong. Filler yang digunakan pada tinjauan ini adalah Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC), Kenaf, Cellulose Nanofibers (CNF), Mikrokristalin Selulosa (MCC), Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit (TKKS), Kalsium Karbonat (CaCO3), Silika, Seng Oksida (ZnO), Kitosan, dan Clay. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan komparasi beberapa telaah jurnal dengan metode literature review. Berdasarkan studi literatur yang dilakukan, penambahan filler akan berpengaruh secara signifikan. Penambahan filler akan meningkatkan kekuatan tarik dan modulus young, namun akan menurunkan elongasi bioplastik. Selain itu, penambahan filler pada bioplastik juga akan menurunkan kemampuan biodegradasi pada bioplastik.
