Kombinasi Elektrodialisis dan Presipitasi dalam Recovery Amonium dan Fosfat dari Limbah Urin

Abstract
Urin manusia menjadi penyumbang nutrisi terbesar pada air limbah domestik dengan kandungan fosfor 50% dan nitrogen 80% padahal volumenya hanya 1% dari total volume limbah domestik. Urin yang terpisah berpotensi menjadi sumber nutrisi terbarukan. Presipitasi struvite (MgNH4PO4.6H2O) adalah pendekatan yang efisien dan sederhana untuk pemulihan nutrisi dari urin. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan kombinasi elektrodialisis dan presipitasi dalam recovery amonium dan fosfat dari limbah urin sintetis dengan variasi kuat arus dan pH untuk presipitasi. Elektrodialis menggunakan reaktor skala labroatorium yang terbuat dari bahan akrilik dengan 3 kompartemen. Elektrodialisis menggunakan anoda karbon dan katoda stainless steel yang terhubung dengan DC Power Supply. Hasil konsentrat elektrodialisis kemudian dipresipitasi dengan jar test volume aktif 10 x 10 x 14 cm3 berbahan akrilik. Uji presipitasi struvite menggunakan variabel bebas yaitu variasi kuat arus 450 mA, 1150 mA, 1350 mA dan pH 9; 9,3; 9,5. variabel kontrol yaitu kecepatan pengadukan 158 rpm dengan waktu pengadukan 60 menit. Didapatkan kuat arus listrik optimum adalah 450 mA dengan persen removal amonium 36,64% dan persen removal fosfat 16,18%. pH presipitasi optimum terjadi pada pH 9,5. Presipitat yang diprediksi terbentuk selain struvite adalah brucite, trimagnesium phosphate, dan newberyite.
