Studi Eksperimen Kinerja Turbin Angin Savonius yang Terintegrasi dengan Gedung pada Jarak G/D = 1,82 dari Dinding

Abstract
Energi memiliki peranan penting pada kehidupan manusia. Ketersediaan energi konvensional yang semakin berkurang akan menjadi tantangan. Dengan mengintegrasikan turbin angin Savonius pada gedung tinggi dapat menjadi solusi dalam pemanfaatan energi baru terbarukan sebagai penghasil energi listrik. Pada penelitian ini digunakan turbin angin Savonius dua sudu dengan diameter sudu (D) 165,2 mm, tinggi turbin (H) 303,4 mm, diameter poros (b) 19 mm, dan diameter endplate (Do) 321 mm. Turbin diletakkan di samping model bangunan pada sisi advancing-nya dengan rasio jarak pusat turbin ke dinding terhadap diameter sudu turbin (G/D) sebesar 1,82. Variasi kecepatan angin yang digunakan adalah 4 hingga 9 m/s. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah kecepatan angin 8 m/s merupakan kecepatan optimum untuk meningkatkan peforma turbin angin Savonius, dibuktikan oleh peningkatan nilai Coefficient of Power (CoPmax) sebesar 14,7% dan peningkatan Coefficient of Moment (CoMmax) sebesar 15,9%. Pemasangan dinding disebelah di sudu advancing juga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan self-starting turbin angin Savonius pada seluruh variasi kecepatan angin, dengan peningkatan tertinggi yaitu pada kecepatan 9 m/s sebesar 79,9%.
