Isolat Bacillus Pelarut Fosfat dari Kalimas Surabaya

Abstract


Ketersediaan fosfat terlarut di dalam tanah sangat terbatas karena kecenderungannya terikat dengan mineral tanah membentuk fosfat kompleks. Bakteri pelarut fosfat, salah satunya adalah Bacillus, dapat digunakan untuk membantu ketersediaan fosfat terlarut di dalam tanah sehingga dapat menggantikan pupuk fosfat. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui potensi isolat Bacillus spp. koleksi laboratorium Mikrobiologi dan Bioteknologi Biologi ITS Surabaya dalam melarutkan fosfat. Potensi pelarutan fosfat dilihat dari kemampuannya membentuk zona bening pada medium Pikovskaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Bacillus S1, Bacillus SS19, dan Bacillus DA11 mampu melarutkan fosfat secara kualitatif dengan nilai IPF secara berurutan 2,44; 2,34; dan 2,42. Berdasarkan nilai IPFnya, Bacillus S1 memiliki kemampuan melarutkan fosfat tertinggi dibanding isolat Bacillus SS19 dan Bacillus DA11.
