Sifat Termomekanik Komposit PEG/SiO2 Amorf Menggunakan Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA)

Abstract


Dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA) adalah sebuah teknik serbaguna yang memberikan informasi sifat termomekanik material dalam kondisi pembebanan dinamis. DMA melengkapi informasi yang diberikan oleh teknik analisis termal yang tradisional seperti differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) dan thermal mechanical analysis (TMA). Data keluaran dari DMA diantaranya modulus simpan (storage modulus, G’), modulus hilang (loss modulus, G”), dan faktor redaman (damping factor, tan δ) yang bergantung terhadap temperatur, DMA juga memberikan informasi temperatur transisi gelas (glass transition temperature, Tg) dan energi aktivasi degradasi (Ea). DMA dapat memberikan informasi mengenai ikatan antarmuka antara penguat dan matrik dalam komposit. Kondisi pembebanan dinamik sering dijumpai dalam sistem kontruksi sipil yang disebabkan oleh gelombang suara, angin, gempa bumi dan gelombang laut. Dalam penelitian ini material yang digunakan adalah komposit PEG4000/SiO2 amorf, mode yang digunakan adalah mode geser (shear-mode) dengan menerapkan variasi frekuensi. Komposisi pengisi (filler) dalam komposit sebesar 40%wt SiO2 amorf. Silika yang digunakan berasal dari pasir silika Tanah Laut, Pelaihari, Kalimantan Selatan. Pembentukan komposit dilakukan dengan metode likuid.
