Analisis Daya Perkecambahan Padi (Oryza sativa L.) Varietas Bahbutong Hasil Iradiasi

Abstract


Padi merupakan salah satu komoditas pangan penting dan termasuk serealia paling banyak di tanam di dunia. Di Asia, terdapat beragam varietas padi yang memiliki pigmen unik seperti merah, ungu, hitam, coklat, kuning dan hijau yang telah banyak dibudidaya dan dikonsumsi. Padi varietas Bahbutong termasuk salah satu varietas beras merah asli Sumatera Utara yang telah dikeluarkan sejak tahun 1985 dan hanya cocok ditanam di lahan sawah saja. Saat ini belum ada penelitian yang melaporkan mengenai ketahanannya pada kondisi kering. Pada penelitian ini padi varietas Bahbutong di induksi keragaman genetiknya dengan teknik iradiasi sinar gamma dosis 0 Gy, 100 Gy, 200 Gy, dan 300 Gy selanjutnya biji di kecambahkan. Biji yang mampu berkecambah dianalisis vigor dan viabilitasnya selama 7 hari penanaman. Data yang diperoleh dari uji vigor dan viabilitas  dianalisis dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan uji lanjutan DMRT pada taraf  5%. Penurunan yang terjadi antar perlakuan tidak signifikan, namun perlakuan dosis iradiasi 100 Gy memberikan pengaruh baik. Secara berturut-turut, untuk parameter daya berkecambah dan keserempakan tumbuh sebesar 98.33% dan 100 %. Sedangkan parameter laju perkecambahan mengalami penurunan seiring dengan meningkatnya dosis iradiasi. Perlakuan dosis iradiasi 300 Gy memiliki nilai laju perkecambahan terlama yaitu selama 2 hari 15 jam.
