Potensi Chlorella sp. sebagai Bioakumulator Logam Berat Kadmium

Abstract


Kadmium adalah logam beracun yang bersifat toksik dan dapat membahayakan makhluk hidup serta ekosistem perairan. Chlorella sp. memiliki kapasitas tinggi untuk mengikat logam berat seperti kadmium. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan hidup Chlorella sp., daya resistensi di media terpapar logam Cd, serta kemampuan bioakumulasi terhadap logam Cd. Tahap pertama pemeliharan kultur Chlorella sp. dengan subkultur setiap 48 jam. Penentuan kurva pertumbuhan Chlorella sp. dengan mengukur densitas (OD) menggunakan spektrofotometer setiap 2 jam selama 24 jam. Selanjutnya Uji resistensi logam Cd dilakukan dengan kisaran konsentrasi CdCl2 0 mg/L-50 mg/L selama 24, 48, dan 72 jam. Uji bioakumulasi logam Cd oleh Chlorella sp. berdasarkan hasil uji resistensi (range finding test) yaitu 0, 5, 10, dan 15 mg/L Cd selama 24, 48, dan 72 jam. Data dianalisis secara deksritip kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Chlorella sp. resisten terhadap logam berat Cd hingga konsentrasi 15 mg/L.
