Optimasi Penggunaan Koagulan dalam Proses Penjernihan Air

Abstract
Air bersih sangat dibutuhkan untuk kelangsungan hidup dan aktifitas sehari-hari. Air minum sendiri adalah air yang melalui proses pengolahan atau tanpa proses pengolahan yang memenuhi syarat kesehatan dan dapat langsung diminum. Salah satu proses pengolahan air minum adalah proses koagulasi/flokulasi, yakni proses pengumpulan partikel-partikel penyusun kekeruhan yang tidak dapat diendapkan secara gravitasi, menjadi partikel yang lebih besar sehingga dapat diendapkan dengan cara pemberian bahan kimia koagulan. Proses pengolahan air ini dapat diturunkan menjadi suatu model matematika yang dinyatakan dalam bentuk persamaan diferensial biasa non-linier. Dalam Tugas Akhir ini dibahas mengenai proses liniearisasi dan kestabilan model matematika proses pengolahan air. Selain itu, dilakukan simulasi dengan memasukkan kondisi awal dan beberapa parameter untuk mencari respon dari sistem dinamik antara konsentrasi kekeruhan air dengan dosis koagulan. Hasil simulasi yang diperoleh menunjukkan respon dinamik, semakin tinggi tingkat konsentrasi kekeruhan maka semakin besar konsentrasi dosis yang diberikan. Tingkat konsentrasi kekeruhan bergantung pada kondisi akhir dari konsentrasi dosis.
