Pengurangan Turbiditas pada Air Laut Menggunakan Metode Elektrokoagulasi

Abstract
Pengurangan turbiditas air laut menggunakan metode elektrokoagulasi telah dipelajari. Proses koagulasi air laut selama elektrolisis terjadi karena terbentuknya koagulan magnesium hidroksida sehingga pengurangan turbiditas air laut lebih cepat. Hasil analisis ICP-AES menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi ion magnesium dalam air laut berubah dari 312,35 ppm menjadi 0,03 ppm setelah elektrolisis. Pengukuran turbiditas air laut menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 750 nm. Pada penelitian ini dipelajari pengaruh tegangan terhadap pengurangan turbiditas air laut. Pada proses elektrolisis selama 70 menit dengan variasi tegangan 2 V, 5 V dan 10 V, turbiditas air laut yang berkurang masing-masing sebesar 88%, 94% dan 98%.
