Bioakumulasi Logam Berat Kadmium (Cd) oleh Chaetoceros calcitrans pada Konsentrasi Sublethal

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan Chaetoceros calcitrans dalam menyerap kadmium (Cd) pada konsentrasi sublethal. Penelitian ini menggunakan logam berat kadmium (Cd) yang dipaparkan pada fitoplankton uji selama 96 jam. Konsentrasi yang digunakan adalah konsentrasi sublethal (10% dari LC₅₀), Analisa kandungan kadmium dilakukan pada seluruh tubuh Chaetoceros calcitrans dan air media pemaparan dengan menggunakan AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Chaetoceros calcitrans dapat menyerap logam berat kadmium (Cd) dari air media pemaparan setelah 96 jam yaitu sebesar 7,036; 7,385; dan 5,071 mg/g dw pada masing-masing konsentrasi 0,1; 0,2; dan 0,4 ppm. Sedangkan untuk kemampuan Chaetoceros calcitrans dalam mengakumulasi logam berat kadmium (Cd) ditunjukkan oleh nilai faktor biokonsentrasi (BCFs) pada masing-masing konsentrasi tersebut berturut-turut adalah 1000,515; 679,936; dan 120,106. Berdasarkan nilai BCFs tersebut Chaetoceros calcitrans termasuk dalam kategori sifat akumulatif sedang hingga tinggi. Hasil analisa one way ANOVA yang telah dilakukan, menunjukkan tidak adanya pengaruh antara konsentrasi kadmium dan nilai BCFs yaitu dengan P-value sebesar 0,617 pada Chaetoceros calcitrans
