Adsorpsi ion Cd2+ dalam larutan menggunakan karbon aktif yang terbuat dari biji trembesi telah dilakukan. Biji trembesi (Samanea saman) dikarbonisasi dan diaktivasi dengan asam fosfat (H3PO4) untuk mengurangi kadar ion Cd2+ dalam larutan. Adsorpsi dilakukan dengan metode batch dengan 2 g/L karbon aktif dengan mengetahui pH adsorbat. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu pH optimum proses adsorpsi ion Cd2+ terjadi pada pH 7 dengan jumlah ion Cd2+ yang teradsorpsi sebesar 97,11%.
