Pengaruh Tongkol Jagung sebagai Media Pertumbuhan Alternatif Jamur Tiram Putih (Pleurotus ostreatus) terhadap Aktivitas Antimikroba

Abstract
Jamur tiram putih mampu tumbuh pada substrat yang mengandung lignoselulosa. Pengurangan jumlah kayu sengon sebagai media pertumbuhan jamur tiram putih terjadi akibat semakin meningkatnya permintaan masyarakat terhadap jamur tiram putih, sehingga diperlukan media pertumbuhan alternatif yang memiliki kandungan lignoselulosa. Tongkol jagung dipilih sebagai media pertumbuhan alternatif jamur tiram putih karena mengandung lignoselulosa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tongkol jagung sebagai media pertumbuhan alternatif jamur tiram putih terhadap aktivitas antimikroba pada bakteri Bacillus subtilis dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Variasi perbandingan tongkol jagung dan kayu sengon yang digunakan sebagai media tanam pertumbuhan jamur dalam penelitian ini adalah 25:75, 50:50, 75:25, dan 100:0 (b/b). Jamur tiram putih diekstrak menggunakan pelarut metanol. Ekstrak metanol jamur tiram putih dianalisa aktivitas antimikroba menggunakan metode dilusi broth. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa variasi komposisi tongkol jagung mempengaruhi aktivitas antimikroba pada ekstrak metanol jamur tiram. Jamur tiram putih pada semua variasi komposisi media tanam tidak memiliki aktivitas antimikroba terhadap bakteri P. aeruginosa. Jamur tiram putih dengan variasi komposisi media tanam 50% tongkol jagung memberikan hasil aktivitas antimikroba tertinggi terhadap bakteri B. subtilis dengan persentase penghambatan sebesar 11,02%.
