Perancangan Desain Pola Sulam Kristik dengan Tema Burung Endemik Indonesia

Abstract

Indonesia menempati urutan ke-1 di dunia dengan jumlah 170 jenis burung endemik terancam punah. Setiap lapisan masyarakat harus ikut serta dalam upaya pelestarian dan konservasi burung endemik Indonesia dimulai dari mengedukasi dirinya sendiri. Telah dilakukan upaya pelestarian yang ditujukan pada masyarakat secara umum, tetapi belum terdapat media edukasi yang ditujukan pada target khusus seperti wanita pecinta kristik. Oleh karena itu, penulis merancang desain pola kristik dengan tema burung endemik Indonesia sebagai salah satu media edukasi dalam upaya pelestarian dan konservasinya. Dalam perancangan ini metode yang digunakan adalah depth interview, observasi, kuisioner, studi literatur, studi eksisting, eksplorasi visual dan sampling/user testing. Perancangan ini menghasilkan konsep ‘Modern Cross-Stitch: Birds of Indonesia’ yang memperkenalkan 10 jenis burung endemik Indonesia dengan pola kristik modern pada target audien spesifik wanita berusia 17-25 tahun pecinta sulam kristik.
